When in Malaybalay: Mt. Capistrano and Nasuli Spring Adventure

Mt. Capistrano is a notable peak which can be seen along the highways of Malaybalay, Bukidnon. It has become a favorite hiking destination for both newbies and skillful hikers.

The trek starts with concrete stairway then ascend to an almost 90 degrees angle (ropes are laid to assist the hiker). While climbing up, you get to see the view of the rice fields and be in awe with its beauty. You will reach the summit between 1-4 hours of trekking depending on your speed and stamina.

The rock formations are unique. The wide rice fields with majestic mountain ranges in the background were beautiful and breathtaking.

The only ugly thing about Mt. Capistrano is the garbage that is scattered along the trail. The community must help one another to conduct a campaign to keep it clean and green. They may provide orientation for the trekkers and make sure they don’t leave any trash behind.

Nasuli Spring

A very good choice of relaxation after taking a long hiking in Mt. Capistrano is a soothing cold spring water- the Nasuli Spring. The pool’s fresh ice cold water that comes from a natural spring is gentle for the skin. Nasuli spring is a fresh water lagoon and is best for a summer getaway. Waste no time and take the plunge under the intense heat of the summer sun.

As we got there, we saw that the pool is quite deep. Its color is somewhat bluish to greenish. It is indeed a place to recommend especially for nature lovers. It is peaceful and we felt comfortable staying there for a while for it is surrounded by huge trees.

It is also best for family bonding and picnic. You can bring food and enjoy the rest of the day taking a dip in the water. However, make sure that you prioritize safety especially when you have children with you.
