Hiking and Camping at Kapayawan Ridge, Impasug-ong Bukidnon

If you are the kind of person who loves to do activities outside your comfort zone, then trekking and trail adventures must be on your list. And make sure before you go and take any plunge of the adventures abroad, you should savor (before anything else) the first-hand riches of our country.

Unknown to many, we have our own scenic mountain view found in the Municipality of Impasug-ong, Province of Bukidnon. I heard some said that it is quite similar to the mountain ranges in New Zealand. Kapayawan Ridge is among the great places in Mindanao to go hiking.

My team and I started our hike at 5:30 in the afternoon. The trekking took 2-3 hours before we reached the top. If you are planning to camp there overnight, bring your camping and outdoor gear. Make sure they are of good quality, though. You might encounter a windy night and destroy your tent in just a snap.

As we set a bonfire, we enjoyed at the same time the mesmerizing beauty of the night sky. Away from the city lights, it can’t be denied that the stars took our breath away.

Early in the morning on the next day, we witness a seldom to see glorifying sunrise. We were also so eager to witness the sea of clouds and the panoramic view of the mountains. It is indeed a good place to unplug from the busy work, relax and meditate.

Aside from the green mountain range all around the place, springs of fresh water can also be found. And they are safe to drink!

Kapayawan Ridge should be on your list now! I can’t tell each detail for you as I will just leave the rest for you to try and explore. Don’t ever miss the jump shot on the top!
