Tumalog Falls in Oslob, Cebu

tumanog falls 2

After a terrific side tripping in Bluewater Sumilon Island we went to Tumanog Falls which is located in Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Oslob, Cebu
The falls is around 3 kilometers away from the Oslob proper and you can ride motorcyce or “habal-habal” from the resort.

If you have four wheels car then much better because the road is very steep.

Usually local and foreign tourist, after whale shark watching, they include Tumalog falls on their itinerary.

The most exciting there is when you reached on the highest peak and you will see
the whole scenery not just in oslob but including the Balicasag Island in Bohol, Samar Island and many more. Unfortunately, I was not able to take some photos, I was riding a motorcycle and busy talking with the driver who used to be my tourist guide.
It takes 15 minutes to reach the highlands then need to walk another 15 minutes to reach the falls.
The entrance fee is included already and it costs 140 pesos.

The Tumalog Falls is very high, I guess around 100 feet something with 7 levels.
There is a mini pool upon entering the falls.
I asked someone to take some photos with me. I am a solo backpacker by the way.
The falls is very high but the water is not that strong and deep and it’s just like a rain shower. The water is absolutely cold though I wore rash guard.

I tried to climb but the rocks were very slippery. Make sure you know how to balance .

I can say this place is good but not that perfect for photoshoot.
There were many foreign tourists in the falls and usually Koreans invaded this wonderful place.
I travelled the whole day with this couple. Vince is shivering already.

After an hour we went back. This is the most challenging part , to hike back on the steep to reach the highland where the “habal-habal” is waiting.

I hope you guys enjoyed my new entry about Tumalog falls in Oslob, Cebu.

BUDGET Breakdown:

120 pesos – Motorcycle or Habal-habal rental back and fourth
20 pesos – Entrance Fee

  1. Cool post., and great pictures. It’s good to visit waterfalls especially during Summer, as I know temperature in Cebu can hit around 34 to 35. It would be very relaxing to swim in waterfalls like Tumalog. I’d like to comment here too that tourists and others who plan to visit Tumalog Falls can rent a motorbike or scooter to travel easier. I heard that there’s one shop allowing people to rent. Here is their website: book2wheel.com . Check it out.
